A ready-to-use, mustard-based pickle crafted by Seasoners Fine Foods, it’s made using time-honoured practices – fresh vegetables are soaked in brine for 24 hours, and production is fully in-house, with no shortcuts in flavour.
What is Piccalilli?
Piccalilli is an English interpretation of Indian pickles, and typically includes chopped, pickled vegetables like cauliflower, onions, courgettes, gherkins (and sometimes runner beans). This is then all flavoured with mustard, turmeric, vinegar, spices and sugar.
Its colour is normally bright yellow – due to the addition of turmeric – and is tangier and less sweet than sweet pickles, with larger chunks. Traditionally, its served with cold meats, ploughman’s lunches, toast and in sandwiches.
About the Brand:
Seasoners Fine Foods is a family-run UK manufacturer, renowned for its traditional production methods. Founded in 1994 by Stephen Muller, who started pickling in his home kitchen, it remains guided by the same values.
One of their main methods is to soak fresh vegetables in brine for 24 hours, to ensure vibrant textures and depth of flavour is in every bottle, without the need for excess salt.
