Products
Crespo is a well-known Mediterranean food brand specialising in pickled products, such as olives and capers. They’re especially known for their authentic Mediterranean flavour, good quality brining and widespread availability in supermarkets.
The caperberries from Crespo are harvested from caper bush, and are the fruit of the plant (whereas capers are the flower buds). They have a briny, tangy flavour with a slightly crunchy texture and are often a similar size to olives.
Key Features of Crespo Caperberries:
- Pickled in brine (typically water, vinegar and salt)
- Often sold in jars, preserved similar to olives
- Mildly tangy, slightly lemony flavour with a crisp bite
- Larger and less intense than regular capers
How to use Caperberries:
- Serve whole on antipasto platters
- Use as a garnish for martinins
- Chop into salads, pasta dishes or sauces
- Pair with grilled fish, meats or cheese boards
