Celebrated in many countries around the world, Mother’s Day is a special celebration to honour mothers and mother-figures in our lives. A custom that developed in the middle ages, it has since become a yearly tradition celebrated by thousands in various different ways – from three day festivals held in Ethiopia to epic picnics and barbeques in Brazil. However, in the UK, there is a very particular way many treat their mother – by taking them for a classic (and delicious!) High Tea.
Though a staple on some menus, when Mother’s Day arrives many cafes and restaurants provide a special High Tea just for the day, with many taking their mothers out to celebrate – though others like to make it a stay-at-home delight. Whatever the choice, we have a few items that could make that High Tea a little extra special and stand out from the rest!
Teapigs Lemon & Ginger Tea:

Instead of the standard English Breakfast or Earl Grey, why not try a cup of Lemon & Ginger tea? Both refreshing and light, it’s a great way to cleanse the pallet when switching from savoury to sweet!
Tiptree Black Cherry Conserve:

A staple on any High Tea is of course the legendary fruit scone! Though commonly accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry jam, providing other options like the Tiptree Black Cherry Conserve could give this tradition a refresh – after all, variety is the spice of life!
Maille Dijon Mustard:

Whether full sized or finger, sandwiches are the delicious savoury section of a High Tea. Using a brand like Maille for the ham and mustard option is a sure way to elevate those sandwiches to something special.
